Today's Ingredient - EGG YOLKS - Caramel Sauce

Caramel Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 tab cornflour
2 egg yolks
60g butter


Method:
  1. Mix cold milk, cornflour, brown sugar and egg yolks together until smooth.
  2. Place on low heat and whisk until mixture thickens.
  3. Add butter and continue to mix until glossy and all the butter has melted.
  4. Remove from heat and pour into a jar.
  5. Keep in the refrigerator until needed.


Caramel sauce can be used on ice cream, to dip strawberries into, drizzled over pastries or cakes, to flavour milk, heated up over puddings or just in a little pot all by itself.
Your imagination is the only limiting factor, apart from the occasional treat aspect.
